Breakfast Headlines


Cricket South Africa has expressed concern after terror attacks in Mumbai, in India. The Nashua Titans and the Nashua Dolphins are due to leave for India at the weekend to play in the inaugural Champions' League competition, while Graeme Smith and Makhaya Ntini are also contracted to play for the Rajasthan Royals and the Chennai Super Kings. With some matches scheduled for Mumbai, CSA CEO Gerald Majola says the safety of players is of paramount concern at all times, although they'll take guidance from Foreign Affairs before taking any decisions.

Santos beat Thanda Royal Zulu 1-0 in an afternoon match in Durban. The People's team is now 9th, only 5 points behind the log leaders.

Liverpool are through to the Champions League knockouts after a 1-0 win over Marseille, but Atletico Madrid still top the group after a 2-1 win over PSV. Barcelona have qualified after thrashing Sporting 5-2. Chelsea drew 1-1 with Bordeaux which means they're not yet secured a place in the next round. Roma beat Cluj fro! m Romania 3-1, but could still miss out when the final group m! atches t ake place in two weeks time. Panathinaikos beat Inter 1-0 to improve their chances.
