Springbok flyhalf Butch James won't be considered for this weekend's test against Italy at Newlands.
He's been sent home to get some rest ahead of the extended Tri-Nations series which kicks off in just over two weeks. James played in all the world cup matches for the Boks and went into a long English season with Bath before returning for the first two tests against Wales.
Coach Peter de Villiers says James is a vital part of the team and it's essential to the team's success that he's fully rested.
